Episode 643 You Can’t Go Over It — You Have to Go Through It with Bizzy

In this Memorial Day episode, I take a moment to reflect on the meaning of the day and the deep gratitude I feel for the soldiers who have sacrificed their lives for our freedom. I share a personal story from when I was twenty‑two, escorting the families of fallen Desert Storm soldiers in Washington, D.C.—an experience that changed me and has stayed with me ever since.
From there, I talk about my own journey of sobriety, personal growth, and the uncomfortable but necessary process of walking through life’s challenges instead of trying to go around them. Over the years, I’ve learned that change is rarely easy, but it’s always possible. The tools I gained in recovery—prayer, meditation, willingness, honesty, and self‑care—continue to guide me through every season of life.
I open up about the emotional shifts that come with motherhood, empty‑nesting, and letting go of old stories. And I share how gratitude has become the lens through which I see my life today, even the hard parts.
If you’re navigating change, sitting in discomfort, or trying to find your footing again, I hope this episode reminds you that you’re not alone. We can all learn to walk through the hard things with grace, resilience, and a little more love for ourselves.
