Newsletter for May 8, 2026 How Do You Find Light?

in porto

Hey Bizzy Fam,

Do you ever feel like you’re stuck in a loop of repetitive negativity? Everything feels heavy, the world looks dark, and no matter what you do, you can’t seem to shift into a better place. You’re anxious, angry, exhausted — and honestly, you barely want to be around yourself. That helpless, powerless feeling is overwhelming.

But here’s the truth: you have the power to change those feelings. Move a muscle, change a thought.

I lived in that darkness for almost eleven months. It was awful. I felt blue, heavy, disconnected. And even though I knew I had tools, I didn’t want to reach for them. I was too tired, too worn down. It wasn’t until I made a reservation and changed my location that something shifted.

But here’s the part I want you to hear: I didn’t need to travel thousands of miles to find myself. I could have found the light right where I was.

But I can’t live in the could haves or should haves. I can only live in the now.

God is with us in the present moment — not in the past, not in the future.

So let me ask you: What brings you joy? Do you love walking, looking at art, being in nature? Where do you see beauty?

Because I promise you this: if you spend your time doom‑scrolling, watching the news, or numbing out with dark shows, you will not find the light. These distractions — these forms of numbing — don’t lift you up. They pull you further down.

Today is a new day, no matter what time it is. It’s spring. Things are blooming. The air is fresh. This is a season of rebirth — a time to release the darkness and feed the light.

Here are a few tools I use when I need to shift:

  • Daily prayer — asking God to guide your thinking

  • Meditation — even five minutes helps

  • Box breathing — inhale 4, exhale 4

  • The rosary — it grounds me and pulls me out of myself

  • Remove social media apps from your phone

  • Get creative — paint, take photos, draw, do anything that brings joy

Being in the dark is the worst feeling, and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone. But you are not powerless. You can take action. You can choose what you consume with your eyes, your ears, and your mouth.

Make a list of what you can control and what you can’t. You’ll be surprised how much peace comes from that clarity.

Try something new. Find the light in your life — and when you do, I’d love to hear what you discovered.

Just know this: you are never alone.

Sending you big hugs and love,

Elizabeth aka Bizzy
